Different has emerged from stealth with $48 million in seed funding to build an AI-powered marketing system that manages demand generation for B2B companies. The round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and other investors.

Founded by Ajeet Singh, Abhishek Pani and Abhinav Yajurvedi, the San Francisco-based startup aims to help small marketing teams run more campaigns across multiple channels without expanding headcount. Its platform plans, creates, launches and optimises campaigns while allowing marketers to retain control over strategy, creative direction and final approvals.

The funding will support expansion of Different’s engineering and go-to-market teams. The company’s platform is available through its website, Different.

How Different’s AI Marketing System Works

Marketing teams often use separate tools for advertising, email campaigns, landing pages and content optimisation. Coordinating these activities and measuring their combined impact can consume significant time, even when AI tools speed up individual tasks.

Different is designed to bring these activities into a single workflow. Its system can create and run campaigns across channels, personalise messaging for target buyers and adjust campaigns based on performance.

The platform also supports answer engine optimisation (AEO), including monitoring, content recommendations and content creation. It uses shared information about a company’s strategy, brand and campaign results to improve its work over time.

Unlike tools that focus on individual marketing tasks, Different positions itself as an end-to-end system. However, marketers still review and approve work before campaigns go live.

Founders Bring Experience From ThoughtSpot, Adobe and Flipkart

CEO Ajeet Singh previously co founded ThoughtSpot and Nutanix. He said the idea for Different came from seeing how marketing teams rely on multiple specialists and tools to take campaigns from planning to execution.

Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Abhishek Pani previously worked at Adobe, where he led machine-learning teams behind marketing products. Chief Technology Officer Abhinav Yajurvedi built marketing infrastructure for Flipkart and Myntra, bringing experience from large-scale consumer technology platforms.

The company’s investor group includes General Catalyst and Lightspeed Venture Partners, alongside Together Fund, Haystack Ventures, MXV Capital and Firebolt Ventures. The company has not disclosed a valuation alongside the funding announcement.

Early Customers Report Higher Campaign Capacity

Different says its early customers have used the platform to increase campaign output without adding marketing staff.

The company reported that Motif’s three-person marketing team moved from running one campaign at a time to managing more than a dozen across four channels within a month.

At Descope, the company says the system helped identify and redirect 60% of paid advertising spend that was being wasted on suboptimal targeting. Descope’s marketing team also reported running multiple programmes simultaneously with a small team. These figures are company-reported outcomes and have not been independently audited.

What Different’s Launch Means for B2B Marketing

Different’s launch reflects a wider shift in business software: from AI tools that generate individual assets to systems that coordinate complete workflows. For B2B companies, this could reduce the operational burden of running campaigns across paid advertising, email and landing pages.

The key test will be whether the system can consistently improve lead quality and marketing returns—not just increase the number of campaigns launched. B2B marketing often involves long sales cycles, multiple decision-makers and complex buyer journeys, so results will depend on targeting quality, brand control and how well campaign activity translates into qualified sales opportunities.

For Indian startups and growing businesses operating with lean teams, this model could be worth watching. However, adoption decisions should be based on measurable performance, integration requirements and the cost of the platform relative to the value of new business generated.

Different is headquartered in San Francisco and says its platform is available now through different.ai
