Jewellery marketplace Eternz has launched a zero commission selling programme for women-led jewellery businesses, allowing eligible brands to sell through its platform without paying sales commissions until December 2026. The initiative is aimed at newly onboarded businesses in which women hold a majority stake, subject to the company's quality checks and approval.
Founded by Arthi Ramalingam, Founder and CEO of Eternz, the Bengaluru-based company plans to help independent designers, homegrown jewellery labels, offline retailers and social-media-led businesses reach more customers online.
Participating brands will receive access to Eternz's customer base, logistics network, marketing tools and digital commerce infrastructure. The platform also offers jewellery-specific technology, including virtual try on and a virtual ring sizer.
How the Zero Commission Programme Works
The initiative is designed for businesses that have jewellery designs and products but may lack the resources to build and manage their own online sales infrastructure.
Eligible brands can use Eternz to showcase products, manage catalogues and inventory, and serve customers through an established marketplace. The programme covers businesses at different stages, from independent designers to established retailers looking to expand their digital reach.
According to Eternz, more than 400 brands and designers are already listed on its platform, with over 35% identified as women led businesses.
Arthi Ramalingam's Vision for Jewellery Entrepreneurs
Arthi Ramalingam said many women entrepreneurs have strong designs and customer relationships but lack access to the digital infrastructure needed to expand beyond their existing networks.
Her experience building a jewellery business has informed Eternz's focus on helping brands improve online discovery, customer access and digital commerce.
The company's wider strategy is to build a specialised jewellery marketplace where shoppers can discover different brands in one place, while sellers can use shared technology and services instead of building every part of their online operation independently.
Why This Matters for India's Jewellery Startups
Small jewellery brands often rely on Instagram, WhatsApp, exhibitions and physical stores to reach customers. While these channels can help build loyal communities, expanding nationally may require spending on websites, product photography, delivery, customer support and digital marketing.
Eternz's zero commission offer could reduce one cost of selling online during the programme period. However, zero commission does not necessarily mean zero selling costs: participating brands should confirm whether shipping, advertising, returns and other services carry separate charges.
The initiative also gives Eternz an opportunity to attract more sellers and strengthen its product selection. Its commercial impact will depend on how many eligible brands join, how much business they generate, and whether those sellers continue using the marketplace after December 2026.
The company has not disclosed its target for new seller onboarding or the expected financial impact of waiving commissions.
