Reliance Industries-backed Jio Platforms’ Rs 30,213 Cr IPO crossed full subscription on its opening day, with institutional investors driving early demand. By around 10:34 am on Wednesday, October 21, the issue had received bids for approximately 19.99 crore shares, worth about Rs 22,354 crore at the upper end of the price band, against shares worth Rs 22,078 crore on offer.
Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) led the response, subscribing to 3.25 times the shares reserved for them at that point. Retail investors and non-institutional investors (NIIs), however, had not yet fully subscribed to their respective portions.
The IPO marks a major public market milestone for Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries, as the group brings its digital and telecom business to the stock market. The issue is scheduled to close on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Why the IPO Matters
Jio Platforms houses Reliance’s digital and telecom interests, including Reliance Jio Infocomm. Its listing is a major test of public-market appetite for a large Indian technology and telecom business.
The IPO also gives investors a direct route to participate in Jio Platforms’ future growth, while making valuation, subscriber monetisation, capital expenditure and competition important factors to assess. Strong early institutional demand is one signal of investor interest, but it does not guarantee listing gains or future share-price performance.
Investors should review the red herring prospectus and their own risk tolerance before making a decision. The issue closes on October 23, with the IPO’s final subscription level to be determined after bidding ends.
