TruAlt Bioenergy reported a strong financial turnaround in the first half of FY27, posting a consolidated PAT of Rs 94.27 Cr against a loss of Rs 33.27 Cr a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 243% YoY to Rs 1,437.98 Cr, supported by stronger ethanol business performance and greater flexibility in feedstock use.
The Bengaluru-based company announced its unaudited results on October 23, 2026, for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. Managing Director Vijay Nirani said the company’s investment in dual-feed integration is helping it manage seasonal feedstock constraints and extend production cycles.
- TruAlt Bioenergy H1 FY27 Financial Performance
H1 EBITDA increased to Rs 233.92 crore from Rs 36.99 crore in the corresponding period last year. The EBITDA margin expanded to 16.27%, compared with 8.83% in H1 FY26.

The improvement in both profit and margin suggests that growth was accompanied by stronger operating performance, rather than revenue expansion alone. However, maintaining these margins will depend on feedstock costs, plant utilisation and the economics of ethanol supply.
- Q2 FY27 Revenue Reaches Rs 811 Crore
For the July-September quarter, TruAlt Bioenergy recorded revenue from operations of Rs 811.10 Cr, EBITDA of Rs 101.16 crore and PAT of Rs 34.99 Cr. The company reported that Q2 revenue grew sharply YoY, reflecting the scale up in its business compared with the corresponding quarter last year.
- Dual-Feed Ethanol Capacity Reaches 1,300 KLPD
TruAlt has 2,000 kilolitres per day (KLPD) of total installed ethanol capacity across five manufacturing units in Karnataka. Of this, 1,300 KLPD, around 65% of installed capacity, has dual-feed capability, allowing production using both sugar-based and grain-based feedstocks.
This flexibility can help the company respond to seasonal changes in sugarcane availability and shifts in grain prices. The business opportunity, however, depends on securing feedstock at viable prices and maintaining efficient plant utilisation.
- CBG and Sustainable Aviation Fuel Plans
Beyond ethanol, TruAlt is pursuing growth in compressed biogas (CBG) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Its announced plans include four CBG plants under development with Sumitomo Corporation and six additional projects associated with GAIL. The company is also progressing with a proposed SAF facility in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, with planned capacity of 100 million litres a year.
The proposed SAF project has received a Rs 150 crore financial assistance sanction under the PM JI-VAN Yojana, according to the company’s June 2026 announcement. Engineering, statutory approvals, financing and commercial arrangements remain important milestones before the facility can advance.
- What the Results Mean for TruAlt
The return to profitability marks a significant change from H1 FY26, while the larger dual-feed platform gives TruAlt more options to manage feedstock availability. Its next challenge is to sustain margins as production expands and input costs change.
The company’s diversification into CBG and SAF could broaden its business beyond conventional ethanol, but these projects will require execution, funding and regulatory progress. Investors will need to track operating performance alongside the timelines and capital requirements of these expansion plans.
