Children's nutrition Brand As You Asked has raised Rs 45 lakh in a Pre-seed funding round from ISB D-Labs & angel investors. Company plans to use the capital to market launch, product range, Tranparent formulations, and to establish distribution as it enters India's children's nutrition market.
The round was all equity-funded, according to the company's announcement. The startup is positioning itself around a simple proposition: making everyday nutrition easier for parents to understand, without adding unnecessary ingredients or complexity.
Its first range will target children aged two to 12, with products designed for regular use rather than occasional supplementation.
- What As You Asked Plans to Bring to Market
The startup plans to introduce three product categories: daily nutrition support powders, hydration powders for active days and micronutrient gummies without added sugars.
The products are intended to fit into everyday family routines, with age-calibrated formulations for different stages of childhood. The company says it will focus on formulation, manufacturing, distribution and transparent communication with parents as it prepares for its broader market launch.
The funding will also support initial product expansion and efforts to build consumer trust.
For a young nutrition brand, that trust will be particularly important. Parents need clear information about ingredients, recommended intake, age suitability and the role a supplement plays alongside a balanced diet. Product claims and formulation quality will therefore be central to the company's ability to build a repeat customer base.
- Early Testing Shapes Product Strategy
Before its market launch, As You Asked says it conducted conversations with more than 100 parents, over 200 child taste tests and an initial pilot involving more than 200 customers. The exercises were aimed at understanding children's food preferences, eating patterns and the practical challenges families face when building nutrition into daily routines.
Founder Nehal Sharma said the idea emerged from personal health experiences and questions around what adequate nutrition looks like over time. The company wants to move away from an approach centred on excess and instead focus on everyday nutritional needs.
The opportunity is clear, but execution will matter more than positioning. As You Asked will need to establish product credibility, communicate nutritional benefits responsibly and demonstrate that families are willing to purchase its products repeatedly. In children's nutrition, ingredient transparency and age-appropriate formulations are especially important to earning parental trust.
Rs 45 lakh round gives the startup an initial pool of capital to test its products and distribution strategy. Its next milestone will be turning early customer feedback into a commercially viable brand.
