Entrepreneur Navya Naveli Nanda has formally launched Naveli Ventures, the venture arm of the Nanda Family Office, with a focus on startups and research-led opportunities in some of India’s emerging technology sectors.

Naveli Ventures will invest in areas such as deep-tech, artificial intelligence, space, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and healthcare. The platform aims to support founders working on large and long-term problems that could be important for India’s future.

Navya Naveli Nanda to Lead the Venture Arm

Navya Naveli Nanda is the Managing Partner of Naveli Ventures. According to her LinkedIn announcement, the venture platform will invest through direct startup investments, institutional funds and co-investments.

It will also explore partnerships with academic institutions and opportunities linked to intellectual property.

Naveli Ventures LLP was incorporated in March 2023, with Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda listed as designated partners. The latest announcement formally lays out the investment strategy of the venture arm.

The family office is connected with the Nanda business group, which includes Escorts Kubota, a company operating in farm and construction equipment.

Focus on India's Next Technology Wave

Naveli Ventures is entering the market at a time when India is increasing its focus on technologies that require large amounts of research, capital and time to build.

The firm's investment areas include technologies where startups can take longer to reach scale but can potentially create major businesses in the future.

Rather than focusing on one industry, Naveli Ventures plans to look at the size of the problem, the technology or business approach and the founders building the company.

Government and Private Capital Are Increasing

India has also been increasing financial support for deep-tech and other advanced technology sectors.

The government's Research, Development and Innovation scheme has a planned corpus of Rs 1 lakh Cr over six years, with areas such as deep-tech, AI, biotechnology, energy transition and space among its priorities.

The Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0, notified in April 2026, has a Rs 10,000 Cr corpus and includes a focus on deep-tech and technology-driven manufacturing.

Private investors are also putting more money into the sector. Capital-A recently closed the first close of its second fund at ₹160 crore, while Bluehill.VC closed a Rs 400 Cr frontier-tech fund.

In September, IIT Madras, IIT Madras Research Park and Unicorn India Ventures announced a Rs 450 Cr first close for the IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund I, part of a planned Rs 1,000 Cr deep-tech fund.

A Long-Term Investment Approach

Navya Naveli Nanda said Naveli Ventures will focus on long-term investments instead of quick returns.

The goal is to work with founders and companies developing technologies and businesses that can have a meaningful role in India's future.

With its focus spread across AI, space, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare and deep-tech, Naveli Ventures is positioning itself as a broad technology-focused investment platform.

As India's startup ecosystem moves beyond consumer internet businesses into areas such as AI, robotics, energy and advanced manufacturing, the new venture arm will look to identify companies working on some of the country's biggest technology and infrastructure challenges.
