AI-powered fintech startup Oolka is in advanced talks to raise around $45 million (Rs 430 Cr) in a new funding round from Bessemer Venture Partners, Prosus and existing investors, according to people familiar with the development.
If the deal goes through, Bessemer is expected to lead the round with around $20 million, while Prosus could invest about $10 million. The remaining $15 million is likely to come from existing backers including Accel, Lightspeed and 8i Ventures.
The round is still under discussion and has not been officially announced by the company or investors.
Oolka Valuation Could More Than Double
Oolka’s valuation is expected to rise to around $200 million (Rs 1,900 Cr) as part of the ongoing funding talks.
The startup was valued at around $90 million (Rs 850 Cr) in April 2026, meaning its valuation could more than double within just a few months.
The proposed round would also become Oolka’s second fundraise in around six months. Before this round, the company had raised around $21 million, according to Tracxn.
Founded by Former Meesho Executive
Oolka was founded in 2024 by Utkrishta Kumar, popularly known as UK, who previously served as Chief Experience Officer at Meesho.
The startup describes itself as an agentic AI credit management platform. It aims to help consumers check, manage and improve their credit scores while also managing loans and EMIs.
By using AI, Oolka is building tools around personal credit and financial management, a space that is attracting growing interest from fintech investors.
Prosus Steps Up Fintech Investments
The potential Oolka investment would add to Prosus’ growing fintech portfolio in India.
Prosus has already announced a $100 million investment in Navi in August. Navi was founded by Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal.
The investor is also reportedly in talks to invest in fintech startups Bachatt and Vegapay, although those deals have not yet been officially confirmed.
Prosus’ increasing interest in fintech shows a clear focus on consumer-facing financial products, especially startups that use AI to build new financial services.
Fintech Funding Activity Picks Up
The Oolka deal comes at a time when funding activity across India’s fintech sector is picking up sharply.
At least eight fintech funding deals have reportedly been taking shape in less than 45 days across areas such as lending, payments, savings, wealth management and insurance.
Startups including Bachatt, CreditWise, NexEdge and TBX have together been looking to raise more than $100 million. Investors such as Prosus, Northpoint Capital, Claypond Capital, Elev8 and Unbound have also been exploring opportunities in the sector.
Interestingly, several startups are returning to the market barely a year after their launch or previous funding round. This points to a faster pace of investment and growing investor interest in fintech businesses with large consumer markets.
Key Numbers
- $45 million - funding Oolka is reportedly looking to raise
- $200 million - expected valuation, up from $90 million
- $21 million - funding raised by Oolka before the proposed round
If completed, the new funding would give Oolka more capital to build its AI-led credit management platform while bringing major global investors such as Bessemer Venture Partners and Prosus further into India’s fast-growing fintech market.
