Bengaluru-based mobile gaming startup Spill Games has raised $10.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital, with existing investors Centre Court Capital and PeerCapital also participating. The company will use the capital to scale promising games, develop new titles, strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and expand user acquisition across international markets.

Founded in 2024 by former PlaySimple Games executives Om Misra, Tapan Ranjan and Harsh Garg, Spill develops free- to -play casual, puzzle and hybrid-casual mobile games for global audiences.

The funding comes after the startup raised $3.1 million in a seed round in April 2026, co-led by Centre Court Capital and PeerCapital.

  • Spill Games Doubles Its Portfolio of Promising Titles

Spill said the number of its games showing potential for profitable scaling doubled from three to six in less than three months.

Rather than concentrating its resources on a single potential hit, the company develops multiple game concepts, tests them with players and allocates additional investment based on performance.

Its evaluation process considers player retention, engagement, monetisation and user acquisition costs. This allows the studio to identify titles that show commercial promise before committing greater marketing budgets.

At the centre of this approach is Compass, Spill's proprietary technology platform, which brings together analytics, retention, monetisation and live-operations tools.

The company also claims its AI-led workflows have made game development approximately four times faster than traditional approaches, reducing the time needed to build and test new titles.

“ We believe the next decade will see the rise of AI-native gaming studios that pair AI with strong product instinct, data and rapid experimentation,” said Manish Advani, principal at Elevation Capital.

  • Why AI and Data Matter in Mobile Gaming

For free-to-play studios, releasing a game is only the first step. Long-term performance depends on attracting users at a sustainable cost, keeping them engaged and generating revenue through advertising and in-app purchases.

Spill's portfolio-based model aims to make these decisions more systematic. Faster prototyping can help teams test more concepts, while player data can guide decisions on which games deserve additional development and marketing investment.

However, faster development alone does not guarantee profitability. User acquisition costs, player retention, monetisation rates and the ability to sustain engagement ultimately determine whether a game can scale economically.

  • Spill Targets Global Players From India

Spill is building games in India for international markets, with revenue generated through advertising and in-app purchases.

According to The Unicorn Magazine Research, the global mobile gaming market is estimated at $176.7 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $256.2 Bn by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 10.2% between 2025 and 2030.

The opportunity is substantial, but competition for player attention remains intense. For Indian gaming studios, building reusable technology, testing concepts quickly and managing acquisition costs can help improve the economics of developing games for global audiences.

Spill's latest funding will support that strategy. Its next milestone will be turning a larger pipeline of promising games into a sustainable portfolio of profitable titles.
