Groww's parent company, Billionbrains Garage Ventures, reported a 54% increase in consolidated net profit year-on-year, reaching Rs 725.65 crore for the September quarter of FY27.

Revenue from operations increased by 47% to approximately Rs 1,501.5 crore, compared to Rs 1,018.7 crore in the same quarter last year.
Total income rose to Rs 1,540.54 crore, up 43.9% from Rs 1,070.80 crore, as stated in the company's financial results.

The company's performance was achieved despite challenges in equity derivatives trading, which were influenced by the introduction of the Closing Auction Session (CAS) framework by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The results indicate a shift in Groww's revenue sources, with margin trading, commodities, and wealth-management services helping to compensate for the pressure on its derivatives business.

Equity derivatives accounted for about 45% of Groww's revenue in Q2 FY27, down from around 57% in the same period last year.
This decline is attributed to both the market adjustments following the CAS and the increasing contribution from other business segments.

In its shareholder communication, the company stated it expects the derivatives business to recover once the recommendations in SEBI's consultation paper are implemented.
However, this recovery remains dependent on regulatory changes and market conditions.

Groww has been expanding its margin trading facility (MTF), which enables eligible investors to purchase securities using funding provided by the broker, along with commodity derivatives and wealth-management services.

Commodities contributed 6.2% of the company's revenue in the quarter, compared to 0.2% a year earlier.
This growth highlights the company's efforts to reduce its reliance on equity derivatives.

Groww's transacting user base increased by 27% year-on-year to approximately 2.4 crore, while customer assets grew by 46% to around Rs 3.9 lakh crore, according to the company's reported operating metrics.

Its mutual fund market share rose to 14.8% from 13.1% in the previous year.
The company also reported that its wealth division exceeded Rs 10,000 crore in assets under management (AUM), and its asset management company (AMC) saw a year-on-year increase in AUM by 145% to Rs 7,179 crore.

Groww completed the integration of Fisdom during the quarter, enhancing its position in wealth management.

However, the company's sequential performance was weaker.
Consolidated net profit decreased from Rs 735.04 crore in Q1 FY27 to Rs 725.65 crore in Q2, while total income slightly declined from Rs 1,548.67 crore to Rs 1,540.54 crore.

For Groww, the next challenge is to maintain growth as regulatory changes affect trading activity.
The company's expanding user base and diversified product offerings create new revenue opportunities, but sustained growth will depend on customer engagement, product adoption, and its ability to navigate changes in brokerage-market economics.
