Upasana Taku, co-founder and executive director of fintech company MobiKwik, has bought 1.07 lakh shares of the company for around Rs 2.12 crore through open-market transactions, according to a stock exchange filing.
Upasana Taku bought the shares in two parts. She purchased 52,000 shares on September 28 for Rs 1.04 crore, followed by another 55,000 shares on September 29 for Rs 1.09 crore. The shares were bought at an average price of around Rs 199 and Rs 198 per share, respectively.
Following these purchases, Taku’s total holding in MobiKwik has increased to 80.65 lakh shares, from 79.58 lakh shares earlier.
Total Buying Since IPO Reaches 2.94 Lakh Shares
In a letter shared with the company, Taku also said that she had purchased 1.87 lakh MobiKwik shares in December 2025.
With the latest purchases, her total share buying since MobiKwik’s December 2024 IPO has reached 2.94 lakh shares.
Taku also clarified that neither she nor any other member of the promoter group has sold any shares since the IPO.
Shares Bought Below IPO Price
One notable point is the price at which Taku has bought the shares.
MobiKwik had launched its IPO at Rs 279 per share, while Taku’s latest purchases were made at an average price of around Rs 198.50 per share.
That means her latest purchase price was roughly 29% below the IPO price.
MobiKwik Founded in 2009
Taku co-founded MobiKwik in 2009 with Bipin Preet Singh, who currently serves as the company’s managing director and chief executive.
Based in Gurugram, MobiKwik offers a range of digital financial services, including digital payments, wallet and UPI services, consumer lending and wealth products.
The latest share purchase adds to Taku’s holding in the company as MobiKwik continues to build its business across digital payments and financial services.
