Indian startup VC funding declined sharply to $168 Mn across 26 deals between October 2 and October 9, compared with $416 million in the previous week. The drop was largely driven by the absence of mega deals, with the largest transaction being TVS Automobile Solutions’ $44 million fundraise.

Despite the slowdown, investors continued backing startups across consumer tech, lifestyle, deeptech, edtech and fintech. Brands such as DailyObjects, Lumio and Beyond Appliances attracted significant capital, while deeptech companies Quanfluence and QpiAI also secured funding.

The latest numbers highlight the unpredictable nature of India's startup funding landscape, where overall capital inflows continue to depend heavily on large-ticket transactions.
