Bengaluru-based payments technology company Juspay reported a 29% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 664 crore in FY26, compared with Rs 514 crore in FY25. However, the company reported a net loss of Rs 90 crore as it increased spending on artificial intelligence (AI) and international expansion.
In FY25, Juspay had reported a net profit of Rs 62 crore. Despite the latest loss, the company remained adjusted EBITDA positive, while its profit stood at ₹33 crore after excluding employee stock option (ESOP) expenses.
Revenue More Than Triples Since FY23
Juspay's revenue has grown more than threefold from Rs 213 crore in FY23, registering a compound annual growth rate of around 46%.
According to COO Sheetal Lalwani, the company’s return to losses was mainly due to higher investments in AI and overseas markets.
The company is developing AI products for large global businesses that could replace or improve existing tools used for documents, product management and video conferencing.
Lalwani expects these investments to start contributing to revenue growth in FY27.
Core India Payments Business Remains Profitable
Juspay said its core payments business in India continued to grow and remained profitable during FY26.
Currently, less than 10% of its revenue comes from international markets. However, the company expects the overseas contribution to reach double digits in FY27 as it expands into more countries.
The company has increased its presence across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the United States, Latin America and the Middle East.
Juspay believes its experience in building technology for consumers and merchants through India's UPI ecosystem is helping it build relationships with international banks.
Processes 400 Million Transactions Daily
Juspay has built a large payments infrastructure business serving enterprises and banks across the world.
The company processes around 400 million transactions daily, while its annualised total payment volume (TPV) has crossed $1 trillion.
It serves more than 500 enterprises and banks globally and reports a system reliability rate of 99.99%.
Its clients include Amazon, Flipkart, Google, HSBC, IKEA, IndiGo, Swiggy, Zepto and Zurich Insurance.
AI Products Drive the Next Phase of Growth
Juspay is increasing its focus on AI through several new products.
One of them is Xyne, an open-source enterprise AI platform that allows companies to build AI applications and agents using their own organisational data. Businesses can retain control over their data and choose which AI models they want to use.
Another product, Breeze Universal, supports brand discovery and agentic commerce across AI platforms used by merchants and banks.
The company has also developed Genius, an AI-powered tool that helps enterprise teams analyse payment data and manage payment operations, including payment routing rules.
These products form part of Juspay's plan to expand beyond its core payment infrastructure business and build more technology solutions for large enterprises.
International Payments Offer New Opportunities
Juspay was founded in 2012 and provides payment infrastructure to businesses and financial institutions.
As more countries look to develop their own digital payment systems, the company sees opportunities in account-to-account transfers and real-time payments.
Its experience with UPI could help it serve international banks looking to build reliable payment systems.
With revenue rising and its India business remaining profitable, Juspay is betting that investments in AI and global expansion will support its next stage of growth, even as these investments affect short-term profitability.
