AstroTalk, the online astrology platform founded by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, reported a nearly tenfold increase in consolidated net profit to ₹222 crore in FY26, while revenue from operations rose 55% to ₹1,823 Cr.
The Noida-based company’s growth was supported by paid astrology consultations, a sharp rise in international revenue and the expansion of its e-commerce business. The results show AstroTalk growing beyond its core Indian market, even as higher spending on advertising remains a major part of its business model.
Profit before tax increased to ₹296 crore from ₹75 crore in FY25, according to the company’s audited financial statements.
International Revenue Crosses Rs 621 Crore
International markets were a major contributor to AstroTalk’s growth in FY26. Overseas revenue rose to ₹621 crore from ₹236 crore in FY25, increasing its share of operating revenue from around 20% to 34%.
Domestic revenue grew 28% to ₹1,202 crore from ₹940 crore a year earlier. The figures indicate that international markets contributed more than half of the company’s additional operating revenue during the year.
AstroTalk connects users with astrologers through paid chat, phone and video consultations. Its expansion overseas provides access to new customer markets, but sustaining growth will require continued investment in marketing, customer support and local market development.
Consultations Remain the Core Business as Ecommerce Grows
Consultations generated ₹1,657 crore in FY26, up 45% from ₹1,139 crore in FY25, and accounted for approximately 91% of operating revenue.
AstroTalk Store, its e-commerce business, grew faster. Revenue from the segment increased more than fourfold to ₹166 crore from ₹37 crore in the previous fiscal year, raising its contribution to operating revenue to around 9%.
The store sells products such as rudraksha, gemstones, crystals and Vastu-related items through AstroTalk’s own platforms and third-party marketplaces, including Amazon, Flipkart and Blinkit.
Launched in November 2024, the e-commerce business is part of the company’s effort to build revenue streams beyond consultations. AstroTalk has also explored offline stores and further expansion of its gemstones business.
The diversification gives the company another way to serve existing customers, although ecommerce brings different costs and operational requirements, including inventory management, fulfilment and returns.
Advertising Spend Rises to Rs 823 Crore
AstroTalk’s revenue growth came alongside a sharp increase in marketing expenditure. Advertising and business promotion expenses rose 144.2% to ₹823 crore in FY26 from ₹337 crore in FY25, making up more than half of total expenses.
Legal and professional expenses increased to ₹550 crore from ₹515 crore, a category that includes payments to astrologers for consultations. Employee benefit expenses fell 56% to ₹63 crore, mainly because of a reduction in employee stock option-related costs.
Total expenditure rose 38% to approximately ₹1,576 crore. Despite the increase, the company’s profit expanded sharply, suggesting that revenue growth and changes in its cost structure helped improve reported profitability.
The scale of marketing spend remains an important metric to watch. AstroTalk will need to show that the customers acquired through its campaigns continue to generate revenue over time, particularly as overseas expansion increases competition for attention.
Cash Reserves Support the Next Phase of Growth
AstroTalk’s cash flow from operations increased 21% to ₹229 crore in FY26. Its reported cash and investments rose to ₹917 crore from ₹650 crore, providing a financial base for further investment in international markets and new business lines.
Founded in 2017, AstroTalk has raised approximately $34 million from investors including Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Venture Partners. The company joined the unicorn club in 2026 following an employee stock option buyback at a reported valuation of $1 billion.
For Gupta and Jain, the next challenge is to sustain international growth while building AstroTalk Store into a larger contributor to revenue. FY26 shows strong expansion and improved profitability, but the durability of those gains will depend on marketing efficiency and the company’s ability to diversify without losing focus on its core consultation business.
