The preventive healthcare startup, co-founded by Shashank ND, Anshul Khandelwal and Arpit Garg, will invest in AI, medical imaging and clinical research. It has also acquired radiology AI platform Medsee.

Cent, a preventive health intelligence startup founded by Practo co-founder Shashank ND, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons. The round includes equity and debt, with additional participation from individual investors.

The investors include former Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin, former OpenAI B2B CTO Srinivas Narayanan, Sharath Narayana, Krishna Sridhar and Aprameya Radhakrishna. Cent will use the capital to strengthen research and development, expand its AI, engineering and clinical teams, and build its preventive healthcare platform.

Founded in 2025 by Shashank ND, Anshul Khandelwal, former CMO of Ola Electric, and Arpit Garg, former product head at Lenskart, Cent is building an integrated healthcare model that combines medical imaging, diagnostics, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.

Building a Platform for Earlier Disease Detection

Cent’s approach focuses on identifying potential health risks before symptoms appear. Its flagship offering, Cent Check, brings together full-body MRI, low-dose CT, DEXA scans, ECG, echocardiography and more than 100 biomarkers in a visit lasting around two hours.

AI consolidates findings from these tests into a broader view of a member’s health, while specialist doctors review the results and provide a health plan with follow-up support.

Cent says it has completed 10,000 preventive whole-body scans across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. According to the company, among members who felt healthy when they arrived, one in four had a finding requiring action, while one in 40 needed immediate medical attention.

These figures reflect Cent’s own screening population and should not be treated as estimates for the wider Indian population. The long-term value of the model will depend on clinical evidence, appropriate follow-up and the ability to make comprehensive screening accessible to more people.

Medsee Acquisition Adds AI-Assisted Radiology

Alongside the funding, Cent has acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting workflow platform founded by Chitra Singh.

Medsee drafts structured radiology reports and highlights findings for review by qualified medical professionals. The technology is intended to help Cent improve reporting speed and consistency as scan volumes increase.

The acquisition adds another layer to Cent’s vertically integrated model, bringing reporting technology closer to its imaging and diagnostic operations. However, AI-generated drafts remain subject to qualified professional review.

From 10,000 Scans to a Larger Health Dataset

Cent plans to use the data generated through its screening programme to develop health baselines for asymptomatic Indians, train models that may identify risks earlier and support clinical research.

The company has set a target of completing 10 million scans by 2035. Reaching that scale would require substantial expansion in capacity, clinical operations and customer access, alongside careful management of health data and evidence supporting its diagnostic approach.

For Shashank ND and his co-founders, the latest funding and Medsee acquisition mark an effort to build more than a diagnostic service. Cent is seeking to combine screening, AI-assisted interpretation and ongoing health support in one platform.

The next challenge will be to demonstrate that the model can deliver reliable clinical value at scale while keeping preventive care practical and accessible.
