Founded by Aakash Anand and Prerna Gupta, the premium watch brand will use the fresh capital for product development, production expansion and its planned international presence.
Indian premium watch brand Rotoris has reportedly raised ₹70 crore (around $8.5 million) in a Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures. The round also saw participation from 9Unicorns, Centricity and a group of family offices, alongside actor and television host Rannvijay Singha.
The funding is expected to support research and development, expand production capacity and strengthen Rotoris’ presence in India and overseas markets. The company is positioning itself as an Indian watchmaker aiming to compete in the premium segment, where established international brands have traditionally held strong consumer recognition.
Aakash Anand and Prerna Gupta Lead Rotoris
Rotoris was co-founded by Aakash Anand, who previously built Bella Vita, and Prerna Gupta, who leads the brand’s premium positioning and customer experience. Earlier reports have also identified Anant Narula and Kunal Kapania as founding team members.
Anand brings experience in building a consumer brand, while Gupta’s focus is on developing Rotoris into a premium name associated with design, craftsmanship and a distinct customer experience.
The company’s ambition is to create a watch brand with Indian roots and international appeal. Its planned expansion includes Rotoris House, a physical brand experience format, with New York among the markets mentioned by Anand.
Blume Ventures Leads the Funding Round
Alongside Blume Ventures, the round includes 9Unicorns and Centricity, which brought in family-office investors including Diwakar Goel, Global Head of Data at BlackRock; Atul Singh, former Group President for Asia Pacific at Coca-Cola; and Adhiraj Burman of the Dabur family. Rannvijay Singha also participated as an investor.
Blume Ventures co-founder and Managing Partner Karthik Reddy said the investment reflects the firm’s belief in the founders’ ability to build a premium consumer brand with global ambitions.
Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, founder of 9Unicorns, said the firm had backed the founders in an earlier round and was investing again alongside the participating family offices.
Capital to Support Production and Global Expansion
Rotoris plans to direct the fresh capital towards research and development, higher production capacity and expansion of its physical brand presence. Its proposed international push will test whether a homegrown premium watch brand can build recognition beyond the Indian market.
For Indian consumer brands, the opportunity is not simply to launch a premium product, but to build long-term trust around design, quality, service and brand identity. Watches are a particularly demanding category because customers often associate premium pricing with craftsmanship, reliability and after-sales support.
Rotoris’ next phase will depend on how effectively it translates its funding into product quality, production scale and customer demand. Its expansion into overseas markets will also require a clear identity that can stand apart from established global watch brands.
The reported Series A marks a significant step in Rotoris’ ambition to take an Indian watch brand to international consumers. The challenge ahead is to turn that ambition into a sustainable premium business.
