Nasdaq-listed software company Freshworks, co-founded by Girish Mathrubootham, has acquired Israel-based AI startup Robusta to strengthen its IT operations platform, Freshservice. The deal brings AI-powered technology for investigating IT incidents, identifying root causes and recommending fixes into Freshworks’ growing service operations portfolio.
The companies have not disclosed the financial terms of the acquisition. Robusta was co-founded by Natan Yellin and Arik Alon and develops technology that helps engineering teams investigate technology disruptions across complex production environments.
The acquisition is aimed at helping businesses move beyond detecting IT outages to understanding why they happen and resolving them faster.
Robusta Brings AI-Powered Incident Investigation
Robusta’s technology uses AI agents to analyse monitoring data, infrastructure signals and recent code or configuration changes when a disruption occurs. It identifies likely root causes, assesses affected services and recommends corrective actions.
Freshworks plans to integrate these capabilities into Freshservice, its IT service management platform, and connect them with its broader incident-response ecosystem, including FireHydrant.
The goal is to reduce the time IT and engineering teams spend manually reviewing alerts, logs and deployment records. Faster diagnosis could help businesses reduce service interruptions and avoid repeated investigations into similar incidents.
Robusta’s recommended fixes can be reviewed by engineers before changes are made to production systems, keeping human oversight in the resolution process.
Freshworks Expands Its AI Service Operations Strategy
The acquisition adds to Freshworks’ broader push to build an AI-powered service operations platform that combines IT service management, incident response and automated investigation.
In December 2025, Freshworks announced an agreement to acquire FireHydrant, expanding its incident management and reliability capabilities. It also announced an agreement to acquire software management company Torii in October 2026, targeting software visibility and AI spending governance.
Together, these moves point to a wider strategy: connecting the tools businesses use to manage IT services, investigate disruptions and respond to operational risks.
Freshworks reported revenue of $237.4 million in Q2 2026, up 16% year-on-year, according to its financial results. The company’s growing AI portfolio is intended to strengthen its position in the enterprise software market.
What the Acquisition Means for Enterprise IT
For Girish Mathrubootham and Freshworks, Robusta adds a layer of AI led diagnostics to a platform that already manages IT service requests and workflows. For customers, the potential benefit is a more connected process, from identifying a disruption to finding its cause and coordinating a response.
However, the financial terms have not been disclosed, and the acquisition’s impact will depend on how effectively Robusta’s technology is integrated into Freshservice and the wider product ecosystem.
As enterprises seek to manage increasingly complex technology environments, AI-powered incident investigation is becoming an important part of IT operations. Freshworks is betting that combining diagnosis with service management and incident response can help customers resolve problems more efficiently and prevent recurring outages.
