About the Founder

Some entrepreneurs chase trends. Harmeet Godhani chose to solve problems people face every single day.

Born and raised in Surat, Gujarat, Harmeet grew up in a business-oriented family, but he wanted to build something of his own. At just 14, he started experimenting with reselling and dropshipping, determined to become financially independent without depending on his parents for pocket money.

Unlike many teenagers, he spent his free time learning new skills and understanding how businesses worked. During the COVID lockdown, while most students attended online classes, Harmeet taught himself programming through YouTube and Google. He had no mentor, no technical background, and no startup ecosystem around him, just curiosity and the determination to build solutions that could genuinely help people.

A Moment That Changed Everything

In 2022, Harmeet accompanied his father to a hospital. What he witnessed there stayed with him long after they returned home.

An ambulance was waiting outside because a car had been parked right in front of the hospital entrance. The owner couldn't be found, and valuable time was being wasted while a patient waited inside.

For most people, it was just another unfortunate incident.

For Harmeet, it became a question that refused to leave his mind.

"Why isn't there a simple way to contact a vehicle owner during an emergency without invading their privacy?"

That single incident became the starting point of his entrepreneurial journey.

The Birth of Helptag

Harmeet didn't know how to build an app or develop software. Instead of giving up, he started learning everything from scratch.

He spent months studying programming languages, creating prototypes, and talking to thousands of vehicle owners. More than 5,000 survey responses helped him understand that people needed a safer and more private way to communicate during emergencies.

The result was Helptag, a smart QR-based sticker that allows anyone to anonymously contact a vehicle owner simply by scanning the code. Whether a car is blocking an ambulance, headlights are left on, a child or pet is locked inside, or a vehicle meets with an accident, Helptag creates an instant communication bridge without revealing personal phone numbers.

It wasn't just another QR sticker. It solved a real-world problem that thousands of people face every day.

Building a Brand Despite Rejections

Creating the product was only half the battle.

Selling it proved even more difficult.

At just 16 years old, Harmeet visited garages and automobile workshops to introduce Helptag. Instead of encouragement, he faced skepticism. Many people assumed he was merely a salesman trying to earn commission. Others simply refused to believe someone so young could build a technology product.

Rather than letting rejection discourage him, Harmeet completely changed his approach.

He shifted his focus to Instagram and digital marketing, where customers judged the product instead of his age. He positioned Helptag not as a Rs 365 purchase but as "just Rs 1 a day for your vehicle's safety."

The strategy worked.

Word-of-mouth started spreading, customers shared their experiences, and sales grew steadily. Within two years, Helptag had sold nearly 2 lakh smart QR stickers, generating around Rs 7 crore in revenue and proving that practical innovation always finds its audience.

A Bigger Mission: Protecting People, Not Just Vehicles

While building Helptag, Harmeet came across alarming NCRB crime data that revealed how often emergency help gets delayed because victims lose access to their mobile phones.

He realised that most safety applications become useless when a phone is damaged, snatched, or disconnected from the internet.

Once again, he saw an unsolved problem.

This time, the challenge was much bigger.

Without any formal knowledge of electronics, Harmeet began learning hardware development, PCB designing, and circuit engineering on his own. Months of experimentation eventually led to the creation of Who Safe, a wearable IoT safety device that works without internet connectivity.

With just a double press, the device instantly sends SOS alerts and live location to family members and nearby police stations using satellite-based communication technology.

It was designed for one purpose, to ensure help reaches people even when smartphones cannot.

Growth, Impact & The Road Ahead

The response to Who Safe has been encouraging from the very beginning. Within the first few months of launch, more than 2,000 devices were sold, generating nearly Rs 40 lakh in revenue.

Today, Harmeet's combined ventures have generated more than Rs 7.4 crore in revenue while solving real-life safety challenges across India.

But for him, this is only the beginning.

His vision is to build an entire ecosystem of smart safety products, including wearable rings, bracelets, pendants, and tracking solutions that make emergency assistance faster, smarter, and more accessible.

At just 19 years old, Harmeet isn't simply building startups. He's building technology that could one day save lives.

The Journey Continues

Every successful startup begins with identifying a problem others choose to ignore.

For Harmeet Godhani, it started with a blocked ambulance outside a hospital.

Today, that moment has grown into a mission to make India safer through technology.

His journey proves that great entrepreneurs don't always start with funding, experience, or a large team. Sometimes, all it takes is the courage to notice a problem, the patience to keep learning, and the determination to build a solution that truly makes a difference.
