Bengaluru-based technology company InMobi has appointed company veteran Hema Namburi as its Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), strengthening its financial leadership as it prepares for a potential public listing in India.

The appointment was announced on November 5, 2026. Namburi, who has served as InMobi's Global Financial Controller since 2018, will oversee the company's finance operations, audit, taxation and regulatory compliance.

She succeeds Marc Steifman, who previously held the Group CFO position.

Namburi brings nearly two decades of experience in finance and has been associated with InMobi for more than 14 years across two separate stints.

Hema Namburi's Journey At InMobi

Namburi first joined InMobi in 2010 as part of its finance team and later became Senior Manager – Finance. During her initial tenure, she handled global financial reporting, revenue accounting, audit management, taxation, transfer pricing and financial compliance.

She subsequently moved to foodtech company FreshMenu, where she served as Vice President - Finance for nearly two-and-a-half years.

In 2018, she returned to InMobi as Global Financial Controller, taking responsibility for managing financial operations across multiple geographies.

Before joining InMobi, Namburi worked with KPMG India, gaining experience in statutory audits, financial reporting and internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. She began her professional career at Infosys in 2006, working across financial planning and analysis, budgeting and financial modelling.

She is a Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant and has completed an Executive Programme in Applied Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Naveen Tewari Welcomes Leadership Elevation

Commenting on the appointment, Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO of InMobi and Glance, highlighted Namburi's institutional knowledge and experience in managing the financial requirements of a global technology business.

He said she had played an important role in strengthening the company's financial processes and governance over the years.

The appointment also reflects InMobi's decision to elevate an internal leader who has worked across different stages of its business expansion.

InMobi's Proposed $1 Billion India IPO

The leadership change comes as InMobi prepares for a potential IPO in India.

According to a Business Standard report published on November 5, the company is expected to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in December 2026 and is targeting a listing around March or April 2027.

The proposed offering could raise approximately $1 billion. JPMorgan Chase, Jefferies, Kotak Mahindra and Axis have reportedly been appointed as lead bankers.

These timelines and fundraising figures are reported plans and remain subject to the company's formal filings and market conditions.

Founded in 2007 by Naveen Tewari, Abhay Singhal, Mohit Saxena and Piyush Shah, InMobi operates across digital advertising and consumer technology. Its business ecosystem includes Glance, a consumer platform focused on content discovery and commerce.

As the company moves towards a possible public-market debut, strengthening financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory compliance and corporate governance will be important. Namburi's experience across InMobi's international operations could play a significant role in preparing the organisation for the greater financial and disclosure requirements associated with being a listed company.
