CarTrade Tech reported a 10.2% YoY increase in operating revenue to ₹213.1 crore in Q2 FY27, while consolidated profit after tax rose 2.9% to ₹66 crore. The Mumbai-based automotive marketplace also recorded a 19.5% increase in EBITDA to ₹76 crore, indicating stronger operating performance despite slower growth in reported profit.
Revenue increased from ₹193.4 crore in Q2 FY26 and was up 5.9% sequentially from ₹201.2 crore in Q1 FY27. Total income, including ₹23.1 crore in other income, reached ₹236.2 crore.
The results cover the quarter ended September 30, 2026. CarTrade was founded by Vinay Sanghi, who serves as its chairman and managing director, and operates through its Consumer, Remarketing and Classifieds businesses, including OLX India.
OLX India and Remarketing Support Revenue Growth
CarTrade’s three operating segments contributed to its quarterly performance. The Consumer business generated ₹79.5 crore in revenue, while Remarketing and Classifieds (OLX India) reported ₹70.3 crore and ₹70.2 crore, respectively, before inter-segment eliminations of ₹6.9 crore.
OLX India recorded 26% year-on-year revenue growth, alongside a 36% increase in EBITDA, according to the company’s reported figures. The Remarketing business also benefits from CarTrade’s physical auction network and its relationships with dealers and other automotive industry participants.
The company reported an average of 76 million monthly unique visitors during the quarter, with 96% of traffic coming from organic sources. Its network spans more than 500 physical locations, while its remarketing operation recorded an annualised run rate of 1.6 million auction listings.
These figures highlight the reach of CarTrade’s digital platforms and offline operations. The challenge is to convert that reach into sustained revenue growth while maintaining margins across businesses with different operating models.
EBITDA Grows Faster Than Revenue
CarTrade’s EBITDA rose to ₹76 crore from ₹63.6 crore in the year-ago quarter, lifting the EBITDA margin to approximately 35.7% from 32.9%. Profit before tax increased 6.9% to ₹85.5 crore.
Total expenditure grew 6% YoY to ₹150.8 crore, slower than revenue growth. Employee benefit expenses rose 8% to ₹83.7 crore and accounted for more than half of total expenditure.
However, the increase in operating profitability did not flow through fully to profit attributable to shareholders. While consolidated profit after tax, including non controlling interests, stood at ₹66 crore, profit attributable to the owners of the parent was approximately ₹59.5 crore, broadly flat compared with the year-ago quarter.
Other income also declined YoY, while the effective tax rate was higher, contributing to the difference between operating growth and bottom line performance.
H1 FY27 Revenue Rises 13%
For the first half of FY27, CarTrade reported operating revenue of ₹414.3 crore, up around 13% from ₹366.5 crore in H1 FY26. EBITDA increased 30% to ₹139 crore, while consolidated profit after tax rose by more than 10% to approximately ₹122.7 crore.
The first-half figures show that operating profitability is growing faster than revenue, an important measure for a digital marketplace with established platforms and physical operations.
For the coming quarters, investors will watch whether CarTrade can sustain margin expansion, grow its OLX India and Remarketing businesses, and convert higher operating earnings into stronger profit attributable to shareholders. The latest results show progress on operating performance, but the slower growth in owners’ profit remains an important part of the picture.
