Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup Agrani Labs is in talks to raise $100 million (approximately ₹950 crore) in a fresh funding round, with participation expected from Groww founders' investment platform Stargazer, Google and existing investor Peak XV Partners, according to a The Unicorn Magazine report. The proposed round could value the AI chip startup at $300 million to $350 million, marking a substantial increase from its valuation during its previous fundraise.

The company has expanded its fundraising target from the $50 million round reported earlier, following interest from additional investors. Financial services firm 360 ONE, which was already involved in the earlier discussions, is also among the investors mentioned in previous reports.

The proposed investment remains under discussion, and the final funding amount, investor participation and valuation have not been officially confirmed by Agrani Labs.

Who Founded Agrani Labs?

Founded in 2024, Agrani Labs was established by four semiconductor industry veterans: Dheemanth Nagaraj, Ashok Jagannathan, Srikanth Nimmagadda and Rajesh Vivekanandham.

The founders previously worked with global semiconductor companies Intel and AMD, bringing experience in chip architecture, processor engineering and computing systems.

Dheemanth Nagaraj serves as the company's co-founder and CEO, while Ashok Jagannathan leads chip architecture. Srikanth Nimmagadda is the co-founder and chief technologist, and Rajesh Vivekanandham oversees performance architecture.

The Bengaluru-based company is developing AI inference chips alongside a full-stack software platform for enterprise and data-centre computing.

Its chips are being designed to support Nvidia's CUDA software ecosystem, an important consideration for developers and businesses already building applications around Nvidia GPUs.

Groww Founders' Stargazer Makes Its Move Into DeepTech

The proposed Agrani investment could become the first deal from Stargazer's expanded investment vehicle, established by Groww co-founders Lalit Keshre, Harsh Jain, Ishan Bansal and Neeraj Singh.

The four founders have committed personal capital towards investments in emerging businesses across deeptech, artificial intelligence and consumer technology.

Stargazer has been building its investment strategy around early-stage businesses, with its latest proposed fund targeting a corpus of Rs 400-500 Cr.

A potential investment in Agrani would represent a significant commitment to India's semiconductor ecosystem, where companies require substantial capital for research, engineering and product development.

Agrani's Valuation Could Reach $350 Million

Agrani's proposed valuation of $300-350 Mn represents a significant increase from the approximately $35 million valuation reported during its $8 million seed funding round led by Peak XV Partners in June 2025.

If the latest funding closes at the reported valuation, the company's value would have increased more than eightfold in roughly 17 months.

The startup had previously explored a $50 million funding round involving Peak XV Partners and 360 ONE, according to Moneycontrol's September 2026 report.

The latest fundraising discussions indicate growing investor interest in Indian semiconductor companies working on AI computing infrastructure.

Why Agrani Labs Matters for India's Semiconductor Industry

The global AI boom has increased demand for specialised processors capable of handling inference workloads efficiently.

While Nvidia continues to dominate the AI computing market, startups such as Agrani Labs are attempting to develop alternative hardware and software platforms for enterprise and data-centre customers.

However, building competitive semiconductor products requires significant investment in chip design, testing, software development and manufacturing partnerships.

For Agrani, the proposed $100 million funding round could provide the resources needed to advance its technology and compete in an industry dominated by established international players.

For India's startup ecosystem, the discussions also reflect a growing willingness among successful consumer internet entrepreneurs to direct personal capital towards technically complex businesses.

The final outcome of the round will be important to watch, particularly as Agrani moves from early-stage chip development towards commercialising its AI computing platform.
