The deal brings together Protectt.ai’s mobile security business and AIShield’s AI protection technology, with plans to scale research, international operations and sovereign AI security.

Cybersecurity company Protectt.ai Labs has acquired a majority stake in AIShield, an artificial intelligence security platform incubated at Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW). The transaction combines a fresh share issuance with a secondary purchase of shares from existing investors. Bosch is expected to retain a minority stake, according to Inc42.

Following the transaction, AIShield will operate as an independent company, AI Shield Private Limited, under Protectt.ai. The financial terms and AIShield’s valuation have not been disclosed.

The partnership is aimed at helping enterprises secure AI systems as businesses move beyond pilot projects and integrate AI into critical operations. It also gives Protectt.ai a way to combine its existing enterprise relationships with AIShield’s specialised technology.

Manish Mimani Leads Protectt.ai’s AI Security Push

Protectt.ai was founded by Manish Mimani and Mohanraj Selvaraj and is backed by Bessemer Venture Partners. The company provides mobile application security and cybersecurity solutions to banks, non-banking financial companies, insurers, fintech firms and government platforms.

AIShield was founded by Shiv Kumar and Amit Phadke and incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies. It focuses on protecting machine-learning models, generative AI applications and AI supply chains from attacks and security vulnerabilities.

The deal will bring these capabilities together under a broader security offering. Protectt.ai aims to cover three areas: security applications powered by AI, protection of AI systems themselves, and sovereign AI security.

AIShield Brings AI Testing and Runtime Protection

AIShield’s platform supports security across the AI development and deployment lifecycle. Its capabilities include security assessments, red teaming, runtime protection and safety guardrails designed to identify and reduce risks such as prompt injection and vulnerabilities in AI applications.

The company reports more than 40 patent filings, including 11 granted patent families, and serves customers in Europe and the Middle East.

According to Inc42, AIShield has around 12–15 employees and plans to expand its team to 50–60 by March 2027, with additional hiring focused on research and engineering. The transaction is also expected to help it reach more customers across Asian markets through Protectt.ai’s established enterprise relationships.

Why Sovereign AI Security Matters

As organisations adopt AI, security concerns extend beyond conventional software vulnerabilities. Companies must also assess how models can be manipulated, how AI systems interact with data and external tools, and how sensitive information is governed.

Sovereign AI security adds another layer: organisations want greater control over where their AI systems, data and workloads reside and how they are managed. These requirements can be especially important for banks, insurers, government bodies and other regulated institutions.

For Protectt.ai, the partnership represents a move to expand beyond mobile application security into a wider set of enterprise AI risks. For AIShield, operating as an independent entity under Protectt.ai could provide a route to scale its technology, research and customer base.

The commercial test will be whether the combined business can turn specialised AI security capabilities into products that enterprises can deploy at scale. With the investment amount undisclosed, the deal’s immediate financial impact cannot yet be assessed, but its strategic direction is clear: both companies are looking to build a broader AI security business for enterprise and regulated-sector customers.
